My elder daughter is born…. PGI..My wife gets the labour pain. No room available…three ladies are put on the same bed…Influence was needed to get a room in PGI. Thanks , Dr.Mrs.Amrit Tiwari, my ex- Head under whom I completed my residency at the PGI back in late seventies. We were refused room by the Hospital Superintendent, Dr.Kalra.I went to meet Dr. Amrit Tiwari  whom I had an awesome relationship with all these years.During discussion, I told her my problem. She guided me how to manipulate. She sent me to the ward first and enquire from the nurse incharge on the vacancies. I told the nurse-in charge that Mrs Tiwari wanted to know the list of vacant rooms who gladly handed me over. I brought the list back to Dr. Tiwari who called Dr. Kalra a nd did not leave any scope for him to refuse or say ” No Vacancy”. She told him that so and so rooms are vacant and one room should be allotted to us under her quota, some thing like that. That is how we got the room
